In Not Just Over the Rainbow, high-tech meets no-tech and romance catches them by surprise.

Martha Lorraine Delbert has lived her whole life as a hippie in a single wide trailer with no plumbing and no electricity, camped on the outskirts of a very small town out in the Nevada desert. She’s 28 years old and has held only one job: working in a tropical fish store, The Glass Menagerie.

She meets Chris Webster, who has lived all over the world as a military officer’s son and then as a buttoned-down corporate executive. When they meet he is overseeing the installation of the first cell phone towers across the most remote part of the desert. His wife has just left him, taking the kids back home to civilization.

The gloom of Chris’ newly empty house drives him to The Glass Menagerie searching for pretty, but conveniently ignorable, companionship in the form of aquarium life. There he meets the quirky, unignorable, unexpected Martha Lorraine. They soon discover that the best of life is not just over the rainbow but as close as their back yard.

It’s more a bumping together than a clash of worlds as Martha Lorraine teaches Chris to see the world upclose and she learns from him that the big picture is equally amazing. As their paths come converge the outcome is a, well, happy merger.
